WHAT IS
A REBUILDABLE OR SALVAGE TITLE? |
| An
Insurance company will request this type of title after a vehicle
or motorcycle
they
insured has been involved in some type of insurance loss (collision, flood, fire, theft
ect). In most cases this title requires you to make the
needed repairs and than have your local or state DMV office inspect the vehicle
and issue you "rebuilt title". You need to check with
your local DMV office to make sure they will accept this type of title and
what the procedure is to repair or rebuild it. |
| WHAT
IS A CERTIFICATE OF
DESTRUCTION OR
JUNK CERTIFICATE? |
|
This type of
title is issued when the the
insurance
companies
repair estimate exceeds the maximum dollar amount permitted by State Law
to determine if a vehicle is repairable or not. Because state laws
vary, this does not mean that the vehicle cannot be fixed. You need to
check with your local DMV to see if they will accept this type of
ownership document and what the procedure is to repair or rebuild the
vehicle.
This type of
title is good for export out of the United States. |
